Here's a Recap on Life Lately and Hopefully Yet Another Start to Blogging!
Why can't I seem to blog consistently!! I am amazed by Sarah Bass, who by the way has encouraged me to blog again, so here goes.
So a quick blurb on me and then I'll get to the main motivation of my ramblings...my kids!! As I ran tonight with the cold, crisp air filling my lungs I was thinking, how is it fall already? Yes, I am running not fast and not frequently, but hopefully both those things will change. Tonight I set some goals with my wonderful sister-in-law Hope, who is my running partner. We are going to run 4 miles and walk 4 miles a week. Then on Thanksgiving Day we are going to run in a 5K race. This will be my first ever race, so I am excited and very nervous!!
Let me catch you up on my littlest, little lady. Teagan is 19 months old but doesn't look and definitely doesn't act it. She thinks she can do everything the older kids do and some of the times she actually can. She is constantly surprising me with her ability to keep up with Alaina and Will. She is talking so much now, she pretends to read books, and she absolutely LOVES to sing. I hate that my baby is no longer a baby, but I am so in awe of the little person she is becoming.
My other little lady is not so little either, Alaina, has shot up this summer and is ALL legs!! The most important thing I want to mention is that she made the decision to become a Christian. In July she was attending VBS when she decided to say the sinner's prayer and ask Jesus into her heart. I am certain I have never been more proud as her mom than the moment she asked me to pray with her, it was AWESOME!
We are realizing very quickly that she is quite the athlete. She ran her first mile last weekend and did such a great job! She has just started to play soccer and her first game is this upcoming Saturday so I look forward to seeing how she does. This year is a big year for Alaina, she is officially in kindergarten. I am continuing to teach her at home and she continues to excel. We set our goals for the year and she wants to learn to read fluently, tell time, and count money. I know we are going to have a great school year!!
I saved Will for last because the count down is on for his birthday and we are all so excited! Ok, so he is way more excited than me, because I obviously struggle with that fact that my kids are growing up. My Will is gonna be 4 years old this month and I have no idea where the time has gone! He is full of energy and so very funny! Will loves to make us laugh and we are always laughing. He is a great big brother to Teagan and a perfect playmate for Alaina.
During school Will is working hard to learn how to write his letters. He is improving his coloring by slowing down and taking his time. He loves to work on the computer and tries to work independently. One of Will's favorite things to do is play Mario on the Wii and I am so surprised at how well he plays it. Daddy is probably Will's favorite person and they love watching sports together. My little man is growing up and I am so thankful I get to walk along side him as he does.

Really? Was Christmas the last time I posted a blog? Well here goes.
Let me start by saying I am so in impressed by Sarah Bass, who is so good at blogging and I aspire to one day be as consistent as her. I have no excuse, except that I do not particularly care for blogging and that writing does not come easy to me. But I do cherish the time I spend with my kids and I do want to document our memories so that we can look back on those for years to come. But where to start after not writing in 3 months?
We celebrated Aaron's 31st birthday last month with an all American meal with his family, burgers and hotdogs. He continues to work hard for our family in order to give me the opportunity to stay home with our kids, which I can not express in words how much that means to me. He is still getting used to his new job and hoping to settle into a defined position there and he also works part-time for his previous employer as well. He is actively running and playing basketball on a weekly basis. He just ran a 10k today in Richmond and will run the Apple Blossom 10k next month. Not to mention what a great dad and husband he is.
Alaina, is my big girl. She is such a good helper around the house and is so responsible at the young age of five. She amazes me with even small acts of responsibility without being asked. The other day I placed Teagan's shoes on the stairs so I could take them to her room when I went up. I happened to see Alaina pick them as she went upstairs to their room. Everyday as we head out the door Alaina brings me Teagan's coat and when we return she hangs both her coat and Teagan's up. Alaina is especially excelling in her schoolwork. She is so close to reading. She sounds out everything and is eager to learn which makes homeschooling her so fun! I am so thankful for her each and every day!
My Will, he is a bundle of energy and emotions! He is so loving and sweet. He always notices if I change my jewelry or wear any at all. "Mommy I like your necklace and bracelet," he says. He even notices when I paint my toe nails. So, yes, some girl out there is going to be very lucky to have my son as a husband one day. He is now an active member of homeschooling. He sits and works with me and can even do some independent learning games. He loves working on the computer with Starfall.com. He is mastering his letter names and sounds very quickly. He is writing his first name and spelling his first and middle name orally. He is so humorous and loves making others laugh. I am so privileged to have such a special boy that I can call my son!
Sweet Teagan is 14 months now and growing up way too fast for me! She is starting to walk and even though it is not yet her main mode of transportation she can take 10 steps in a row. Once she gains confidence I am sure she will be walking all the time. She pretty much specializes in eating and being cute at this point. Her smile brings us so much joy! She is so interactive and she understands so much. She is saying a few words: momma, dadda, doggie, more (in reference to food), and yeah. She loves to babble, she looks you right in the eyes as if she is having a conversation with you. I almost feel guilty for not understanding her because she just seems so intent on what she is saying. I am grateful to have such a content baby girl!
I guess I should give an update on myself as well. Many of you who read this know that we had found out we were pregnant in December. Well at 13 weeks of pregnancy I found out that I had a blighted ovum. Which means there was a sac but no baby. The body naturally terminates the development of the unhealthy baby. This was very hard, but my Heavenly Father has supplied me with an abundance of His grace and peace. Last month I celebrated my 31st birthday as well. Which thankfully was easier for me than my 30th. I also started working out again and I am even working with a trainer. I am happy to say after working out 6 days a week and working with her for 3 weeks I am 5.5 lbs lighter! Of course I have a long way to go, but at least I am headed in the right direction.
The most exciting family news is that we are taking a trip to England in May. The five of us will spend 10 days with Michael, Faith, Kiley and Isaac Carter. We are going to visit them and do lots of sightseeing as well. I am nervous about the long flights with the kids and ALL the stuff that three kids require, but I know it will be a trip of a lifetime for us.
Well that should just about do it as far as updating you on all of us. I am going to try to get back into posting something at least once a month. Here's hoping!
